The Old Phone ... How Do You Spell Fix?
Author Unknown
When I was quite young, my father had one of the first telephones in our neighborhood. I remember the polished, old case fastened to the wall. The shiny receiver hung on the side of the box. I was too little to reach the telephone, but used to listen with fascination when my mother talked to it.

Then I discovered that somewhere inside the wonderful device lived anamazing person. Her name was "Information Please" and there was nothingshedid not know. Information Please could supply anyone's number and thecorrect time.

My personal experience with the genie-in-a-bottle came one day while my mother was visiting a neighbor. Amusing myself at the tool bench in the basement, I whacked my finger with a hammer, the pain was terrible, but there seemed no point in crying because there was no one home to give sympathy.

I walked around the house sucking my throbbing finger, finally arriving at the stairway. The telephone! Quickly, I ran for the footstool in the parlor and dragged it to the landing. Climbing up, I unhooked the receiver in the parlor and held it to my ear. "Information, please" I said into the mouthpiece just above my head. A click or two and a small clear voice spoke into my ear. "Information."

"I hurt my finger..." I wailed into the phone, the tears came readily enough now that I had an audience.

"Isn't your mother home?" came the question.

"Nobody's home but me," I blubbered.

"Are you bleeding?" the voice asked.

"No," I replied. "I hit my finger with the hammer and it hurts."

"Can you open the icebox?" she asked. I said I could.

"Then chip off a little bit of ice and hold it to your finger," said the voice.

After that, I called "Information Please" for everything. I asked her for help with my geography, and she told me where Philadelphia was. She helped me with my math. She told me my pet chip! munk tha t I had caught in the park just the day before, would eat fruit and nuts.

Then, there was the time Petey, our pet canary, died. I called, Information Please," and told her the sad story. She listened, and then said things grown-ups say to soothe a child. But I was not consoled. I asked her, "Why is it that birds should sing so beautifully and bring joy to all families, only to end up as a heap of feathers on the bottom of a cage?"

She must have sensed my deep concern, for she said quietly, "Paul always remember that there are other worlds to sing in. "Somehow I felt better. Another day I was on the telephone, "Information Please."

"Information," said in the now familiar voice. "How do I spell fix?" I asked.

All this took place in a small town in the Pacific Northwest . When I was nine years old, we moved across the country to Boston . I missed my friend very much. "Information Please" belonged in that old wooden box back home and I somehow never thought of trying the shiny new phone that sat on the table in the hall. As I grew into my teens, the memories of those childhood conversations never really left me. Often, in moments of doubt and perplexity I would recall the serene sense of security I had then. I appreciated now how patient, understanding, and kind she was to have spent her time on a little boy.

A few years later, on my way west to college, my plane put down in Seattle .I had about a half-hour or so between planes. I spent 15 minutes or so on the phone with my sister, who lived there now. Then without thinking what I was doing, I dialed my hometown operator and said, "Information Please. "Miraculously, I heard the small, clear voice I knew so well." Information." I hadn't planned this, but I heard myself saying, "Could you please tell me how to spell fix?"

There was a long pa! use. The n came the soft spoken answer, "I guess your finger must have healed by now." I laughed, "So it's really you," I said. "I wonder if you have any idea how much you meant to me during that time."

I wonder," she said, "if you know how much your call meant to me. I never had any children and I used to look forward to your calls." I told her how often I had thought of her over the years and I asked if I could call her again when I came back to visit my sister.

"Please do", she said. "Just ask for Sally."

Three months later I was back in Seattle . A different voice answered,Information." I asked for Sally.

"Are you a friend?" she said.

"Yes, a very old friend," I answered.

"I'm sorry to have to tell you this," she said. "Sally had been working part-time the last few years because she was sick. She died five weeks ago." Before I could hang up she said, "Wait a minute, did you say your name was Paul?" "Yes." I answered.

"Well, Sally left a message for you. She wrote it down in case you called. Let me read it to you."

The note said, "Tell him there are other worlds to sing in. He'll know what I mean."

I thanked her and hung up. I knew what Sally meant.

Never underestimate the impression you may make on others and whose life you have touched today!

How to use the power of Networking and Leverage like the Big Businesses do
By Hannah du Plessis
How do you earn your money? Are you:

1. working for someone
2. a professional or self-employed (exchange your expertise for someone?s money) = small business owner
3. a business owner
4. an investor

Most people opt for employment because they see it as a ?safe? option. ?Job Security? is what they want. However, as many people will tell you; due to downsizing and industries like the recording industry changing from records to CD?s, where a skill is literally obsolete overnight, there is no such thing as ?Job Security.? Think for yourself: What would you do if your boss tells you tomorrow that you have no job? How long will you be able to survive?

The second way is to be self-employed, or to be a professional. Some professionals have jobs, like teachers, nurses and doctors, but most have a practice or are self employed. Others are self employed by offering a service. If you ask someone who is self employed why he is self employed, he will often say: ?I prefer working for myself and not for a boss.? That is just about the only advantage I can see. Does the self employed have fixed hours to work? No, they often work overtime. Do they have a fixed salary? No, if there is a bad month, they have to take a cut in earnings. They can?t take holidays, weekends or days off.

The third way is to be a business owner ? this is someone who leverages his time by having people work for him, and/or own a big network of businesses, such as McDonalds.

The fourth way is to be an Investor ? someone who uses money as leverage.

You can possibly see from the descriptions above that the last two: Business Owner and/or Investor probably have the most money. Why do they have more money? There are two words above that give you a clue: Network and Leverage.

What is a network?

My Thesaurus describes it as: A system, complex, set-up, set of connections, and set of contacts. Examples of Business Networks or Systems: McDonalds, Wendy?s, Starbucks, Wal-Mart,

What is leverage?

My Thesaurus says: influence, power, force, control, pull, weight. Simply put, leverage is to get other people to do work for you so you can get more done. The owner of McDonalds has 1000?s of people doing work for him in stead of him doing it all himself.

Can you see the power of leverage and networking? How can you use the power of networking? You can start your own business. However, starting your own business is quite difficult and very costly, and most people don?t have the money to get started. You will have to come up with a new idea, or an idea that gives you a competitive advantage over an existing business. After putting lots of your own money into research, brand names, copyrighting and start-up costs, you will have to find loans somewhere with your business plan that your accountant wrote for you. Most people who want to start their own business take out a loan on the equity in their property, or take out a second mortgage on their house, to get started. Big business may start as a small business. But take care that you don?t think your small business falls in this category. If you bought your small business, and you are running it, and it needs you to survive, then you just bought yourself a job. But true leverage is when you can walk away from your business and it can carry on without you.

However, most people don?t have the resources to get their own business up and running. Besides, there is another problem for most people: Consider this scene: You have worked for a company for 15 years. You have been promoted a couple of times. Now there is an opening to become manager of your division. You and another guy both want that position. You have both worked hard for it, but only one of you can get it. Perhaps one of you wants the promotion so bad, he is willing to bribe someone for it - Is this fair? Most people can never dream of obtaining the top jobs.

Now we have to wonder: Is there a way that you can use the power of Networking and Leverage as well? Is there a fair structure where you get paid and promoted directly in proportion with your efforts? The good news is that there is. It is called ?Network Marketing.? In Network Marketing, not only do you get paid directly in proportion to your efforts, but you have the power of leverage and networking working for you as well. You have exactly the same opportunity as anyone else to get promoted to the top positions. Now this is fair.

But isn?t Network Marketing an illegal Pyramid Scheme? I hear you ask.

Though Network Marketing and pyramid schemes do share some similarities, there?s a very important difference that makes the latter illegal. In pyramid schemes, income is generated solely on the process of recruiting others into the pyramid. Sometimes a product of service of questionable value is involved (that is never retailed to the general public by the way), but generally what you?re buying is the right to recruit others into the scheme. This is illegal. Also, in pyramid schemes, those who get in first and who are at the top win, while everyone else loses. In a legitimate Network Marketing company, on the other hand, distributors are paid only on product movement, not on recruiting, both at wholesale and retail. There?s also compensation based on training and managing of your marketing team. And unlike illegal pyramids, in Network Marketing, no matter where you?re positioned or when you join, you can advance to the very highest income levels and even make more money than those above you in the network.

In all business and government structures, the pyramid is the foundation. It contains the hierarchy of, and indeed shapes the role of, all who participate in the organization.
Whether it is the president of the United States and his vice president, Congress, and all the way down to the local government employees, or Microsoft, where one guy sits on the top, followed by his vice presidents, all the way down to the mail clerks, the pyramid structure is ubiquitous. The first thing we should agree on is that there is no inherent problem with the structure of a pyramid.

In government and in business there are several features of the pyramid that are found consistently:

1. The further away from the pinnacle, the less power an individual has, and the less money he or she makes.
2. There is usually one person on the top and that position is typically unattainable to others in the organization. If someone lower down in the structure does assume that top position, it is still reserved for one person at a time.
3. Normally those at the top like to stay at the top. Those toward the top may have incentives to move up higher in their organization, but there is typically no incentive for those higher up to help advance those who are lower down to surpass them. The order of the hierarchy is somewhat sacred.
4. At each level in the organization job titles go along with salaries. Normally a person cannot assume more money or more power without the ?permission? of someone above granting those advancements. Normally, people have little control over advancing. One cannot typically ?self-advance.?

Going back to pyramid schemes versus legitimate network marketing, the contrasts and similarities need to be examined. One of the bad images of pyramid schemes stems from the fact that if there is no viable product, or just money is being moved around, the people at the bottom really do get a raw deal. If only money is being passed around, by the time an individual rises to the top, the money may simply have run out. This is bogus, illegal and frowned upon by the Direct Sellers Association, and the Federal Trade Commission. (Both the DSA and the FTC oversee and ordain legitimate network marketing companies.) Contrast this with MLM compensation plans in which income is only paid out to those who qualify with enough volume during that pay period.

In a pyramid scheme, the payout runs out because no such limits are set.

In a good Network Marketing company the product is so good it can stand on its own. So this is the way the money is made: From the product, not from recruiting. These are the features of a good Network Marketing Company:

1. Each distributor can surpass the level of anybody who came into the organization before him or her, if the new distributor?s performance is greater than the one already in the business.
2. Each new distributor is encouraged to become a CEO, or the top of his pyramid, by the encouragement, leadership, and training of those in his support team. Those above the new distributor in the organization are motivated to elevate the level of everyone who is newer in the business.
3. There is no glass ceiling, no job title with a fixed and limited salary attached to it. The system does represent financial freedom because the model for business growth and the ability to generate income are inherently limitless. The rewards, incentives, acknowledgements, etc. at every level above the new distributor, all the way to corporate, are authentic, on-going, effective, and inspiring.
4. There are no barriers such as race, education, gender, previous experience, etc. Anyone who does the work gets to the top. (Robert Kiyosaki, author of Rich Dad, Poor Dad, and of The Business School for People Who like Helping People has been a strong advocate of network marketing. He tells a story of having been the top salesman at Xerox; he was not promoted because he lacked a college degree.)
5. There is no single top position. There is unlimited room for these so-called top positions.
6. People can ?self-advance.? We give ourselves a raise based on performance, not on politics, nepotism, returning favours, or anything else.
7. No one?s earnings are limited to his or her own efforts. Through the process of leveraging ourselves, the bulk of our commissions come from other people like you and me, who want a better life. It is a business of teaching other people to teach other people, to teach other people, etc. It is an ethical, high-spirited, method of distribution, product consumption, and compensation.

Network marketing represents what we all crave: financial freedom, and time freedom. The opportunities for leadership and self-development are as great as the chance to make a lot of money. Whether or not you decide that this is for you, it is hard to beat this model for building an asset that will pay you over and over. Network marketing makes sense; it is the only viable model for creating financial freedom for the average person. And it is fair.

System Duplication, the Backbone of Network Marketing & MLM

The Network Marketing and MLM buisness is growing in Numbers of Companies, offering everything under the sun.(500% in the past 10 Years)

Interesting the growth of active Distributors has not kept pace. (only 15% in the same period).

With all the state of the art use of Flash, sizzle calls, conference rooms, instant downloads
you would think the numbers of Distributors woul have kept pace.

What's the problem?
I think it is the lack real Foundation Building and some mis-guided direction by the "leaders".

They easily enough "sell" the Dream but many times fail to "tell" the system.

People don't duplicate, sytems duplicate and if there is no System Duplication, the Dream of the Fantastic Unlimited Residual Income can quickly vanish and you have Dead Downlines.

People are encouraged to spend on the Tools, but the tools don't always come with instructions.
I believe the "truth" is sometimes hidden because it may "scare" new recruits away from the fact Success is Obtained only through consistencey of using the system correctly.

Before anyone considers aspiring to become a Highly Productive Networker, enjoying the Freedom of Unlimited Income and Total Control of Time They should be willing to Invest in Themselves, learn the time tested System of Duplication.

Not only will that investment return Unlimted Income , it in itself can produce immediate Income to fund the Growth of the Main Business.

This has become known as a Funded Proposal and has allowed Novice Marketers to mature to Industry Giants in a short period of Time.

Why Network Marketing makes sense

Why do Network Marketing? Or have you been?......

During the early days of American business, companies were largely built through word-of mouth advertising.

In addition to business owners, professional people such as doctors, dentists and lawyers built their practices using the word-of-mouth approach. It is simply the QUICKEST, most cost-effective way of building a business.

This type of advertising, in its current form, is referred to as
Networking or Network Marketing. The truth still holds truethat it is the quickest, most cost effective way of bringing aproduct or a service to the consumer.

Therefore, unlike other professionals who only own their job we
own a business.

We get PAID for not only our own efforts, but also the
efforts of many.

A recent article referred to networking as the marketing concept of the future and predicted that within a few short years, most all products and services will be provided through Network Marketing.

Donald Trump stated that if he were to start over, it would be in some type of Network Marketing. In his opinion it is the only way ordinary, everyday people can achieve financial independence.

In an issue of Success Magazine: the cover story, Creating
Millionaires
, featured ordinary people all of whom had made their fortunes through Network Marketing. Simply put, the trend today is that more and more well-educated business and professional people are turning to Networking. It is creating more WEALTH than any other system.

In the United States, some 87 million people are currently working at home and 38.5 million of those are in networking.

Why is Networking so Powerful?

Did you know you can become WEALTHY doing this business part time?!
Thats right, part time! The reason is simple. You are utilizing OTHER PEOPLES EFFORTS!

For example, lets say you put 10 hours a week into your part time business. Do you think you could find two other people who might want to make money doing the same thing? Of course you could! So, now, instead of working 30 hours yourself, you have found a more effective way to get three times the results.

What if your two reps sponsored two reps each who, also, only worked 10 hours a week? Now, thats 70 hours of work being done and you are only doing 10!

How about when you have 100 reps in your business still doing only 10 hours a week of networking? Thats over 1000 hours a week! All of which you are getting paid on!

Even if you wanted to, you couldnt work that many hours in a week by yourself. This is the secret that many, many successful people know. Its the power of leveraging your time.

It was the famous billionaire John Paul Getty who said, Id
rather have 1% of 100 peoples efforts than 100% of my own!

This business is about a lot of people all doing a little bit. Once you truly grasp the concept of leveraging your time and effort, it will be easy for you to understand why so many people are becoming involved in this industry called Network Marketing.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

What is the most important thing you need to build a successful Network Marketing business? Its not money, its PEOPLE.

Everyone is a prospect but not everyone is a worker. You must
remember that it is not your responsibility to judge whether or not they are a dud or a stud. The old saying, you cant judge a book by its cover, is true with people also.

If you really want people to pay attention to you, show them whats in it for them.
Focus only on what success they can have in this business. Find out their needs, their goals, and their desires. Then show them how they can achieve those things through this business.

People could care less how much money you make unless you are paying their bills. Always direct all benefits of services and income potential towards the prospect. For example, when you are talking to your prospect about Your Opportunitys unbelievable residual pay, you could say something like, Your monthly residual check alone could allow you to stay home with your kids every day!

Remember, Telling isnt Selling, but Asking is.

Your chances for success greatly increase when you are asking as opposed to telling someone about your business. Use questions like, If the right thing came along, would you be interested in improving your income? or Would you like to quit your job? Or "Do you ever look
at other ways to make money?, Would you want more information?"
Ask anything you can think of to find out what their wants and needs are.
Then you are in a much better position to sell your opportunity.

All people are different so get creative and use your personality and excitement to get their attention.

Work with JOY

Work With Joy
By Ramu Jaladurgam

A happy person is not a person with certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with certain set of attitudes -Hugh Downs

YOU HAVE A CHOICE TO CHOOSE ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD!!!

Why don't you choose 'JOY' as your choice?

The happiest things in the world are not things, they are just emotions. Everybody aspire to live their life happily to the fullest, but many times situations go wrong and expectations invite worries. Happy, Jovial, Joy, Ecstatic - no matter how you say it - a feeling of joy is uplifting and satisfying. It's a state we all want to be in, but too many of us don't know how to experience the joy.

What will make you joyful and happy? Finding the perfect job or spouse? A shiny new car? Your dream house? Even things which appear to create joy have their downsides

Every human being wishes to be happy, but the metamorphosis of the mental perception towards being with happiness should be the ultimate choice. You can change yourself by changing the way you feel. So, try not to look at change as an impossible task. But remember, we do all have the choice and the power to change IF WE WANT. Explore the happiness that is lying within you always.

After GOD created a human being with all the emotions, he was searching for the place to keep the happiness, thinking that by default happiness may not have the purpose of creation. Other administrators suggested him to keep Happiness at the peak mountain of Himalayas and somebody said it is easy for them to find and achieve, then other proposals like hiding in to the deep see, locking in the rocky den was also denied by the god, because they seems to be easy. Then an intelligent proposal emerged in to the god's mind to keep the happiness within the human being. Since then the man is searching around the world and trying to find the 'Joy' with things, relationships, expectations, money, power and other tangibles.

Joyful people take responsibility for their own happiness. Joy is a choice. A small flower at our garden, Baby's smile, Sunrise like simple beauties of life also can bring happiness to our life provided if we have attitude. You can create joy when you change your faulty beliefs and thoughts. Joy is more than happiness, health and wellness. The good news is that we all have room for change and can do it by checking our responses to the world and different situations in our life. Love unconditionally, reduce self-interest while developing your social interest and self-help to be at peace and have positive perceptions.

Wishing, hoping, feeling and being with joy is the complete purpose of life.

I wish your only choice would be to WORK WITH JOY.

The Walnut Trees & Growing Your Business

As Featured On Ezine Articles

Every morning, for this past year, Flo (our fantastic Mutt) & I walk approximately 5 miles back & forth through the Almond and Walnut Orchards behind our Ranch.

The walk was prompted by my coronary and has become an hour + of the most enjoyable part of my day.

Flo gets to chase the Wild Turkeys, Jackrabbits, stare down the Fox, and watch the Deer. I think she walks-runs 10 miles.

The most fascinating thing in the past few months has been watching a freshly planted (February) Walnut Orchard blossom from a field of white painted "sticks" to a 20 acre stand of stately Walnut trees, some 13 feet tall!!

These trees are nurtured daily, constantly tied and pruned during their first year.
However the real reason for their explosive growth was the preparation of the planting environment.

The ground was ripped deep for drainage, holes were dug 4 feet x 4 feet, backfilled with amendments and then the Twigs (walnut stock cuttings) were placed in the well worked ground.

A small hole dug in un-worked and unamended ground would not have yielded the size of tree we are staring at today.

WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH GROWING YOUR BUSINESS?

The opportunities offered today in the Networking Marketing and Home-based Business world are staggering. Most companies are ethical and offer fine products, reasonable compensation plans and are usually well managed.

Why is it then, the attrition rate is so high?

No one addresses the preparation stage of starting the business. Everyone wants to "get going now" and make a million overnight.

The only reason the Walnut Trees are doing so well, is that the farmer spent time and money, preparing the soil and is spending a bundle in the early stages to keep those tress growing properly , even tiough there won't be any income for several years.

Want to grow a Solid Business?

Take heed from my successful Neighbor.

1. Choose the Company and Product well. (get quality Root Stock)

2. Be willing to invest in books, tapes and aligning yourself with quality training (Prepare you ground and plan)

3. Have a written plan and be prepared to work daily in the beginning to constantly build your foundation of quality recruits. ( constantly prune, tie and Fertilize the tree during the first year)

Shirley & I consider ourselves fortunate to have found the right Product and Company,
(good Root Stock) but more importantly, we understood the necessity of planning our work and working our plan. We invested wisely in learning aids and developed strong Master Mind Alliances with proven producers.

A new Beginning or Continuation of True Success?

Fellow Networkers

You will appreciate an interesting turn of events for me this past week.

For the past 10 years I have successfully represented a major Pre-engineered Building Company. They are a leader in the Equine Housing Market, which was easy for me since we have been deeply involved in the Horse business forever.
I have been one of the leading producers each year, until this past year, which was pitiful, primarily because of my Major Coronary.

I was informed Thursday that my services would no longer be needed, they have "hired" a young man & women to take my place and see if the Territory could get "back" to speed.

Thank goodness for my ability to always have had a strong Network.
In a way, at age 63, I am relieved because now my total efforts can concentrate on helping my wonderful networking associates to fufill their personal dreams of the Joy of Unlimited residual Income, and the Freedom of controlling their own Destiny.

Feel free to share this with your Associates and hopefully more will join us in the Blessed Opportunity offered to all, regardless of Age, Experience, Sex or Education, by the Exciting World of Network Marketing.

Do Your Potential Customers Forget About You?

Hello again,
We have studied the market in the Auto-response field and feel they all have
programs that offer good value.
The following is a letter from the CEO of AWEBER.COMWhat impressed us was the personal service from the CEO. A real letter in the mail offering his thanks and services on any questions. WOW, service still sells.
It is important for any Marketer to have an auto-response. Might as well be the Best.

Do Your Potential Customers Forget About You?[By: Tom Kulzer]

Your web business probably gets product inquiries from potential customers around the globe. Inquiries come via e-mail and your web site, and you try to send information to each hot prospect as quickly as you can. You know that you can drastically increase the likelihood of making a sale by satisfying each person's need for information quickly!

But, after you've delivered that first bit of information to your prospect, do you send him any further information?

If you are like most Internet marketers, you don't.

When you don't follow that initial message with additional information later on, you let a valuable prospect slip from your grasp! This is a potential customer who may have been very interested in your products, but who lost your contact information, or was too busy to make a purchase when your first message reached him. Often, a prospect will purposely put off making a purchase, to see if you find him important enough to follow up with later. When he doesn't receive a follow up message from you, he will take his business elsewhere.

Are you losing profits due to inconsistent and ineffective follow up?
Following up with leads is more than just a process - it's an art. In order to be effective, you need to design a follow up system, and stick to it, EVERY DAY! If you don't follow up with your prospects consistently, INDIVIDUALLY, and in a timely fashion, then you might as well forget the whole follow up process.

Consistent follow up gets results!
When I first started marketing and following up with prospects, I used a follow up method that I now call the "List Technique." I had a large database containing the names and e-mail addresses of people who had specifically requested information about my products and services. These prospects had already received my first letter by the time they requested more information, so I used the company's latest news as a follow up piece. I would write follow up newsletters every now and then, and send them, in one mass mailing, to everyone who had previously requested information from me. While this probably did help me win a few additional orders, it wasn't a very good follow up method. Why isn't the "List Technique" very effective?

The List Technique isn't consistent. Proponents of the List Technique tend to only send out follow up messages when their companies have "big news".

List Technique messages don't give the potential customer any additional information about the product or service in question. He can't make a more informed buying decision after receiving a newsletter! If someone is wondering whether your company sells the best knick-knacks, what does he care that you've just moved your headquarters?

List Technique messages convey a "big list" mentality to your potential customers. When I used to write follow up messages using the List Technique, I was writing news bulletins to everyone I knew! I should have been sending a personal message to each individual who wanted to know more about my products.

What follow up method really works?
Following up with each lead individually, multiple times, but at set intervals, and with pre-written messages, will dramatically increase sales! Others who use this same technique confirm that they have all at least doubled the sales of various products! In order to set this system up, though, you need to do some planning.

First, you'll need to develop your follow up messages. If you've been marketing on the Internet for any length of time, then you should already have a first informative letter. Your second letter marks the beginning of the follow up process, and should go into more detail than the first letter. Fill this letter with details that you didn't have the space to add to the first letter. Stress the BENEFITS of your products or services!

Your next 2-3 follow up messages should be rather short. Include lists of the benefits and potential uses of your products and services. Write each letter so that your prospects can skim the contents, and still see the full force of your message.

The next couple of follow up messages should create a sense of urgency in your prospect's mind. Make a special offer, giving him a reason to order NOW instead of waiting any longer. After reading these follow up messages, your prospect should want to order immediately!

Phrase each of your final 1 or 2 follow up messages in the form of a question. Ask your prospect why he hasn't yet placed an order? Try to get him to actually respond. Ask if the price is to high, the product isn't the right color or doesn't have the right features, or if he is looking for something else entirely. (By this time, it's unlikely that this person will order from you. However, his feedback can help you modify your follow up letters or products, so that other prospects will order from you.)

The timing of your follow up letters is just as important as their content. You don't want one prospect to receive a follow up the day after he gets your initial informative letter, while another prospect waits weeks for a follow up!

Always send an initial, informative letter as soon as it is requested, and send the first follow up 24 hours afterwards. You want your hot prospects to have information quickly, so that they can make informed buying decisions!

Send the next 2-3 follow up messages between 1 and 3 days apart. Your prospect is still hot, and is probably still shopping around! Tell him about the benefits of your products and services, as opposed to your competitors'. You will make the sale!

Send the final follow up messages later on. You certainly don't want to annoy your prospect! Make sure that these last letters are at least 4 days apart.

Following up effectively seems complicated, but it doesn't have to be! So many potential customers are lost because of poor follow up - don't you want to be one of the few to get it right?

We Like this Product

Product Review: Self Improvement Millionaires
By: Chuck Bartok

In a nutshell, this program is one of the easiest and best ways for anyone, novice or experienced entrepreneur, to set up a successful new business on the Internet or regenerate an old business.

Every month, the program obtains two original and well-written reports on self-improvement or self-help. It then couples each report with a professionally written sales letter and outstanding graphics. You end up with virtually everything needed to begin selling information on the Internet within days.

As John Watson, www.motivationtoday.com, wrote in a recent letter, "I am a self-help enthusiast. So I was delighted to hear about this self-improvement site. I signed up for a year in advance immediately and have not been disappointed.

"The site contains great self-help products which I will be able to use almost at once. If you want to improve your life or help others to improve theirs, check out the site and make up your own mind."

Participation in Self Improvement Millionaires requires a membership. The cost is $37 a month.

Your membership provides you with two ?ready to sell? self-improvement reports every month. These reports are available in two different formats, rich text format compatible with both PC and Mac and Adobe PDF format which is already in an ?e-book? format. This means you can start selling your reports immediately.

And when you consider that obtaining the resale rights to just one of these reports could cost hundred dollars...plus all the marketing materials...you can see for yourself what a fantastic bargain the membership is.

And you don?t want to overlook the excellent training material you get with your membership. It guides you step-by-step through the process of turning your reports into cash.

If I have any complaint at all with Self Improvement Millionaires it is the fact that I can get only two reports a month. But then again, I have to realize that by doing a really good job of marketing each report, I am on the way toward generating a terrific income. And I will probably be as busy as I want to be.

As Kenneth Reno, www.myjvtools.com stated, "Some people are charging hundreds of dollars for private label content. But you guys are giving us 2 fresh new products each month."

Self Improvement Millionaires is definitely the way to go if you are thinking about cashing in on the Internet information gold rush.

You'll Find out more here:

Self Improvement Millionaires

GOOD Thoughts for this Weekend

Happy Fathers Day!
A father is neither an anchor to hold us back,
nor a sail to take us there,
but a guiding light whose love shows us the way.

My Friday Story
AAA Dad
Author Unknown

For 52 years my father got up every morning at 5:30 a.m., except Sunday, and went to work. For 52 years he returned home at 5:30 p.m., like clockwork, for dinner at 6:00 p.m. I never remember my father taking a "night out with the boys," nor do I ever recall my father drinking. All he asked from me as his daughter was to hold his hammer while he repaired something, just so we could have some time to talk to each other.

I never saw my father home from work ill, nor did I ever see my father lay down to take a nap. He had no hobbies, other than taking care of his family.

For 22 years, since I left home for college, my father called me every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. He was always interested in my life, how my family was doing, and I never once heard him lament about his lot in life. The calls even came when he and my mother were in Australia, England or Florida.

Nine years ago when I purchased my first house, my father, 67 years old, spent eight hours a day for three days in the 80-degree Kansas heat, painting my house. He would not allow me to pay someone to have it done. All he asked, was a glass of iced tea, and that a hold a paint brush for him and talk to him. But I was too busy, I had a law practice to run, and I could not take the time to hold the paint brush, or talk to my father.

Five years ago, at age 71 again in the sweltering Kansas heat, my father spent five hours putting together a swingset for my daughter. Again, all he asked was that I get him a glass of iced tea, and talk to him. But again, I had laundry to do, and the house to clean.

Four years ago, my father drove all the way from Denver to Topeka, with an eight foot Colorado Blue Spruce in his trunk, so that my husband and I could have a part of Colorado growing on our land. I was preparing for a trip that weekend and couldn't spend much time tallied to Daddy.

The morning or Sunday, January 16, 1996, my father telephoned me as usual, this time from my sister's home in Florida. We conversed about the tree he had brought me, "Fat Albert," but that morning he called the tree "Fat Oscar," and he had seemed to have forgotten some things we had discussed the previous week. I had to get to church, and I cut the conversation short.

The call came at 4:40 p.m., that day, my father was in the hospital in Florida with an aneurysm. I got on an airplane immediately, and on the way, I thought of all the times I had not taken the time to talk to my father. I realized that I had no idea who he was or what his deepest thoughts were. I vowed that when I arrived, I would make up for the lost time, and have a nice long talk with him and really get to know him.

I arrived in Florida at 1 a.m., my father had passed away at 9:12 p.m. This time it was he who did not have time to talk, or time to wait for me.

In the years since his death I have learned much about my father, and even more about myself. As a father he never asked me for anything but my time, now he as all my attention, every single day.

Tips on Training Your Mind

Tips on Training your Mind
Have you ever wondered what exactly is up with Stress? This informative report can give you an insight into everything you've ever wanted to know about Stress.

As we travel down the Road to Financial Freedom via the
Wonderful World of Networking, we can't forget the importance
of not only Growing our Business and Income, but Growing Personally.

Today's fast paced life often puts every one of us in
difficult situations where stress and anxiety dominate our
day. The frequency and complexity of problems that arise
and need to be dealt with weakens both our minds and our
bodies, making us incapable of finding the right solutions.
There are several ways to improve your power of
concentration and to learn how to relax your mind and
prepare it for future struggles. Your body responds to what
your mind dictates, but most of the times it does this on a
subconscious level.

If you manage to tap into this vital resource, which is
your subconscious mind, you get an extra edge in dealing
with all problems that surround you.

First of all , try to change your daily routine. Not much,
just a bit, but be very conscious about the changes. In the
evening, try to recall all the events that took place in a
day. Quickly analyze the highlights of the day and check
for any gaps in your memory.
If you fail to remember details about an issue you want to
recall this is a good indication that you momentarily
failed to concentrate during that timeframe.

You may also try to diversify the way you live . Again,
changes don't have to be drastic.
If today is no different than yesterday and the day before
you might want to include new elements in your life. You
could start practicing a sport or maybe giving a shot to a
hobby you never practiced before.

Repetitive and dull actions slowly push your mind in a
state of semi hibernation, which slows down your responses
to the issues around you.

Stimulating your mind by engaging it in a new activity
always has good results.
You don't have to play heavy mind
involving games (such as chess, for example) to do this.

Try the simple things first: take a different route on your
way to work, buy another brand of laundry detergent.
Try to travel by bus, if you normally use a car and stand
up on a chair to have a different perspective of your
bedroom.

You can also engage your mind in other interesting
activities such as meeting new people or seeing old
friends.
Give a call to an old high school friend and go out for
some coffee or a beer. Your talks will surely trigger a
chain of events that you store in your mind but almost
never utilize. Still, this would be a good exercise for the
mind and, more importantly, a pleasant experience for you.

There are many things you dislike or despise in life . Give
them a chance, try to view them from another perspective.
If there is a person you hate try to put yourself in his or
her shoes for a few minutes.

1.Try to see yourself through the eyes of people around you
and objectively observe your actions and beliefs.
2.Try to let a clear mind analyze events that you find
annoying and ignore the preconceptions that urge you to
judge a person or event in a certain way.

All of the above are just some simple exercises that will
help you face your problems better prepared. Do not over do
any of them and let them integrate naturally into your way
of life. You may soon look in the mirror and see a happier
you!

One of the Most Important things is to set aside at least
30 minute a day to read.

How to Choose a Network Company

How to Choose a Network Company &
What Makes a Great Opportunity?

As Featured On Ezine Articles

#1 - Low-Unit Cost
When picking a Network Company to represent, study carefully its product or Products. Is the unit cost competitive to similar products offered through other Networks and through normal Marketing methods.

#2 - Highly Consumable

To have a successful residual income, the product needs to be consumable. This simply means people order the product month after month, and you continue to receive commissions based on their purchases. Study carefully the Companies retention rate. If you have to replace 50-60% of your business every couple of months, you will have a hard time developing a High level Residual Income

#3 - Uniqueness of Product

Look for a Product or Product that is not in everyone's Sales Kit. You want the Product to possess certain exclusivity, a product that can not be purchased at the Corner market or Box Store. Is the product patented or are their manufacturing nuances that make it difficult for the total product to be easily Duplicated.

#4 - Exemplary Management Team

In order to feel confident of the staying Power of the Company and Product you chose, you need to study and understand the business Structure and the Management Team. Is management familiar with the uniqueness of Network Marketing or are they comprised of Trophy executives hired for their Name recognition or Notoriety in un-related fields. A Company with staying power needs a team who has experience in international, multi-million dollar businesses. People who have done this before, and are knowledgeable in multiple areas.

#5 - Profits for the Company & Distributors

Study the financial position of the Company. Be cautious if figures are not available.
What is the Company debt ratio? Have they changed marketing plans several times?
Is the Compensation Plan easy to understand? Is there a big discrepancy between actual Sales Dollar Volume and Credited Volume? Is 100% of commission percentage actually paid, or is there a lot of breakage? Look for Companies that pay 100% of stated commission and are on sound financial footing. Also be wary of Plans that require large up-front costs, and/or require carrying large Inventory

#6 - Timing, Timing, Timing

Is the Product and/or concept, in tune with Current Trends or better yet, are they a little ahead of the curve. Are you choosing a business that is on the cutting edge of a growing Market? Think of the rapidly expanding Global position and where can this Company fit in the Global Economy.

#7 - Presentation and Duplicability

Can the presentation be made quickly, easily and understandably? The secret in Duplication is that almost anyone, with strong desire to succeed, can be successful. Is the system cross generational? Is it Non-gender specific? Are the requirements for Start-up easily affordable to large cross section of the Global population?

If the Company or Companies can stand up to 6-7 of these criteria, you have a very good chance for high degree of Success. If only 4-5 apply, I guarantee you will work too hard to gain too little, and if only 3 or less fit, run for the hills and close your check book.

Success in Network Marketing needs the above criteria for the Product and Company;
But more importantly it needs the individual to be willing to change their lifestyle and thought process.
And have a realistic attitude about your Place in the Marketing Scheme.
How many people can you touch with Authority and Credibility?
If your circle of Influence is used to $100 month for New products and service you can't expect the sphere to jump at  investing $1,000's regardless the Projected Income.

My Anti-Business-Card Approach to Self-Promotion

It's not your customer's job to remember you. It is your obligation and responsibility to make sure they don't have the chance to forget you."

- Patricia Fripp

My Anti-Business-Card Approach to Self-Promotion
By Bob Bly

Michael Masterson has often pointed out in ETR how much of the conventional wisdom you read about business and entrepreneurship is pure nonsense. Much of this pap, as Michael has noted, is produced by misguided consultants, ignorant marketing advisors, and business journalists who have never run a successful business in their lives.

Take, for example, the nonsensical advice given on the subject of business cards.
One writer suggests giving everyone TWO business cards instead of one ... the logic being that the recipient will then have an extra card to pass on. Yet, you never hear a Steve Jobs or Donald Trump say, "Yes, I built a billion-dollar business. And I used the 'hand out two cards instead of one strategy' to do it, too."

We're also told how to transform a business card from its conventional form (name, company, and contact information only) to a powerful "billboard" by adding unconventional elements such as a strong positioning statement, a list of services, and clever graphics or slogans.

But the truth is, spending any significant effort worrying or thinking about business cards ... or strategizing their use ... is an absolute waste of time. That's because most people who receive your business card throw it away without a second glance.

(In fact, most of the self-made millionaires I know don't even have business cards. Or, if they have them, they don't carry them.)
In the "good old days," before the PC, most people actually had Rolodexes into which they would copy the information on your business card or insert the card itself. But now, your prospects keep their "Rolodexes" in Outlook or some other computer application.

Yes, I know that there are devices that scan business cards and import them into your PC database. But their use is far from widespread. Do you use one? Have you seen one on a prospect's desk lately?
That's what I thought.

So... what should you put on your business card? And how do you get it into people's hands so they pay attention and file it for future reference? My answer may surprise you:

1. Don't worry about what you put on your business card. It doesn't matter.
2. Don't carry business cards or hand them out to people.

Instead, do the following ...

When a prospect asks you, "Do you have a business card?" say, "I don't have any on me. But give me yours, and I will put one of mine in the mail to you."

Then, in conversation, qualify the prospect and find out his needs. When you get back to your office, send him the appropriate catalog, brochure, or other relevant literature on your products or services. Enclose one of your business cards with these marketing materials - fulfilling the promise you made to send it.

But what if your prospect does not carry a business card? (As I said, many busy people don't.) In that case, have him write his contact information on a piece of paper. (You should always carry paper and pen for this purpose.)

You see, if you readily give your card to the prospect, you eliminate the need for him to give you his contact information ... which means you have not captured a lead and have no way of following up. But by strategically withholding a business card, you almost "force" the prospect to give you his contact information. (Almost no one will refuse you.)

So you can capture him in your database ... follow up to qualify him further ... and convert him into a buyer. Result: Instead of swapping little pieces of paper (business cards), you convert contacts into sales and revenue.

But there's one extra step I left out...
After you get the prospect's business card or contact information written on a piece of paper, say, "We also publish a monthly online newsletter on ... . Would you like a free subscription?"
When he says "yes" (and most will), you can now communicate with him, virtually at no cost, as often as you like - both with your monthly online newsletter and with e-mail marketing messages sent to your newsletter subscriber list.

You can send the e-mail marketing messages because, as subscribers, they have "opted in." They know you ... have agreed to receive e-mail from you ... and so it's perfectly legal to send promotional e-mails to them.

Of course, to use this strategy, you must actually publish an e-newsletter related to your product, service, or area of expertise. If you're not sure how to do it, you'll find my "formula" in Message

The Power of Positive Habits

"The Power of Positive Habits"
By Dan Robey

Did you know that habits are incredibly powerful tools for personal growth and success?

Let me ask you a question. When is the last time you made a conscious decision to add a new habit to your life? If you are like most people you probably answered...never!

The reason for this is that most people only think of habits as something bad.

If you ask ten people on the street what the word habit means, nine out of ten will tell you that a habit is a negative action that people do over and over again, like smoking, or procrastinating, or eating too much. But the truth is that positive habits hold the keys to success in virtually everything you do. What are positive habits you ask.

A positive habit is simply a habit that produces positive benefits, actions and attitudes. Why is there such great power in positive habits to effect change? Because habits, by their very nature, are automatic, and after a period of time they can also become permanent. This is a very powerful combination.

So how do we go about adding new positive habits to our life? It's really quite easy. You simply begin repeating an action, attitude or thought process every day for at least 21 days. Research has shown that an action that is repeated for a minimum of 21 days is likely to become a permanent habit.

Remember that positive habits have positive benefits and you will reap those benefits for as long as you maintain that habit.

So now that we know what positive habits are, and how to acquire them, let's look at some simple positive habits for success.

Positive Habit #1 - Make it a habit to set goals

Did you know that the most successful people all share the common positive habit of goal setting? A study was done to determine the importance of goal setting. College students who had gone on to achieve great success in business were asked to list their habits. The students who had made a habit of setting goals were in the top 3% of earnings in the population! It is almost impossible to overestimate the value of goal-setting as a positive habit.

Goal setting is simple, yet 97% of the population never do it. By making goal setting a positive habit, you can start placing yourself in the top 3% of the population of successful people.

Here are some simple steps to help you start making goal setting a positive habit:

Step 1 Define your goals, write them down, and be very specific; capture your goals on paper. It is amazing how many people never take the time to write down exactly what it is they want in life. Remember, you can't hit a target if you don't have one.

Step 2 Determine what the time line is for reaching your goals; set specific deadlines for each goal.

Step 3 Identify any obstacles that may stand in your way, list them, and state how you plan to overcome them.

Step 4 Make a list of the people and/or organizations who will help you reach your goals.

Positive Habits #2 Be More Productive With the 4-D Habit
Many of us are stressed out by the negative effects of work overload in our careers. The 4-D habit is a very simple positive habit that will help you to prevent work overload. Every time you are faced with a new task to perform, apply the 4 D's as listed below. You will find that your workload will be reduced as you apply this screening and decision making tool to each task you are confronted with. Decide on the most appropriate choice - and take action.

Do It Now - take immediate action, do the task right away, don't procrastinate.

Dump It Now - make a quick decision and dump the task.

Delegate It - give the task to someone else. This is a very critical aspect of time management. Your time is valuable; make it a habit to work on tasks that you do best and delegate the tasks that can be performed by someone else.

Defer the Task - make an immediate decision to postpone the task to a later time. Make sure to schedule a time to complete it.

Positive Habit #3 Create and repeat positive attitude phrases
A positive attitude is perhaps the most important ingredient to success and a surefire way to maintain a positive attitude is to make it a habit to repeat positive attitude phrases. Choose or create a positive attitude phrase and repeat it aloud many times each day. In a few days you will

5 Winning Strategies for MLM Success

5 Winning Strategies For MLM Success By: Allyn Cutts Copyright Š 2005 Cutts Group, llc 5 Winning Strategies For MLM Success

1 Find Your Niche Sure you want everyone to benefit from the opportunity for freedom you have to offer, but face it... not everyone has an interest in extracting themselves from their comfort zone. Successful MLM marketers are willing to step out on a limb, and to change themselves. No, it’s not for everyone. Who are the people most likely to be ripe for a change? Identify your prospects, and target your marketing strategies toward them. Don’t waste time and energy casting your pearls before the swine. Invest where it counts.

2. Invest In Low Cost Leads Bigger isn’t always better, though we tend to think so! Small ads, postcards, and other low cost advertising methods are powerful advertising agents. They’re small, too the point and effective... generating a higher than average percentage of inquiries. Leads are crucial to MLM success. You don’t necessarily have to make the sale with the advertisments. Making contact is just as important. Your advertisement may simply direct them to your Website where you gather the contact information you need.

3.Stir up Desire Most people have dreams tucked away deep inside. Many have lain dormant for many years. You never know who it is that will respond to your advertising campaign, but you can be sure that it’ll take an emotional connection to spark them to action. Emotional advertising is effective because it puts people in the seat of the purchaser, or in this case the MLM marketer. They get to feel the bonuses and freedom of financial success. They can experience the joy of being their own boss, with a few cleverly written words.

4. Call To Action The best time to encourage a prospect to make a commitment is NOW. Immediate action is they key to claiming the sale or signing up a new member. Think about it... when procrastination takes part in the picture... nothing much gets accomplished. Sure, they’re going to get around to it someday, but usually someday never gets here.

5. Follow UP What happens when a prospect doesn’t bite the first time you put the bait in front of them? Well, that’s pretty much up to you. They can sit around and eventually forget all about the offer you dangled in front of them. Or... you can keep a line of contact open that constantly reminds them of the opportunity that is just waiting for them to snatch up. Implement follow ups and you’ll increase your success rate by 50 percent. Check back every month for a while, then every 6 months. A lot can happen in life during a six month period. You never know just what changes might spur them into doing something else with their life... you want to be there for them at that perfect time

My Friday Story

Stress Management

A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a glass of water and asked, "How heavy is this glass of water?"

Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to
hold it."

"If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.

In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

He continued, "And that's the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later, as the burden becomes increasingly heavy, we won't be able to carry on. As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again.

When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden."

"So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down.

Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.

Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can. Relax; pick them up later after you've rested.

Life is short. Enjoy it!"

And then he shared some ways of dealing with the burdens of life:

  • Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
  • Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
  • Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their maker.
  • Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
  • Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
  • Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
  • The second mouse gets the cheese.
  • When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
  • Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
  • You may be only one person in the world to some people, but to one person, you may be the world.
  • We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull.
  • Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the same box.
  • A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Have an awesome day
